2007: Church Without Walls Conference
— for Ministers and Motivators

As part of the process of celebrating Church without Walls and evaluating the progress of its implementation, this conference sets out to provide, in a relaxed and comfortable setting, an opportunity for ministers and other congregational motivators to engage with the four main themes of the report and in the process have their own vision and energy renewed. The conference explored what it means to be a Church without Walls.

Main Conference Themes

Using the four New Testament gospels, the conference helped illuminate the four main themes of the Church without Walls Report concerning the shape of the church, and provided a basis for ministers and other congregational leaders to review and re-energise their own vision.

The four main themes of the report are:

A Church shaped by
— The Gospel (Exploring the themes of Law and Grace in Matthew's Gospel)
A Church shaped by
— The Neighbourhood (Exploring the theme of the “Word made flesh” in John's Gospel)
A Church shaped by
— Friendship (Exploring the theme of the vulnerable outsider in Luke's Gospel)
A Church shaped by
— The Gifts of God's People (Exploring the themes of discipleship in Mark's Gospel)

The conference was held on Sun 4th March - Wed 7th March 2007 at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort.
