2005: A Year of Celebration!
In 2001 the Church of Scotland produced a report known as the Church Without Walls Report. This report sought to spark off imaginative discussions and practices to focus individuals, congregations, presbyteries and the Church as a whole on new ways to go about Christ's work, and to make real our commitment to follow him.

Some congregations are familiar with this report; others are less so. Whether or not you are familiar with the report, the Church of Scotland has called on congregations to use the milestone of the 4th birthday of CWW in 2005 as a way to celebrate and bear witness to our faith: locally, regionally and nationally.

National Events
On May 28th, 2005 over 3,000 members of the Church of Scotland were invited to witness and participate in the largest single event ever to take place in the Edinburgh International Conference Centre: The National Church Without Walls Celebration.

For over 12 hours every nook and cranny in the EICC was filled with tales, experiences, examples, teaching, learning and of course some good fun!

Hailed as a great success the event demonstrated to the watching world that the Church in Scotland was alive and was re-adjusting itself to be a more relational church to the people of Scotland.

Regional Events
Many presbyteries and groups of presbyteries rose to the challenge of creating regional events to celebrate the work of Church Without Walls

The Clyde Presbyteries
Four local presbyteries joined forces to hire the SECC and Clyde Auditorium for a spectacular exhibition. Comprising real examples of being churches without walls from the 300 parishes that are located in the Clyde Presbyteries area. The day culminated with a 2,000-strong worship service and communion.

The Forth Presbyteries
An exciting evening of worship and praise was held in Edinburgh's Charlotte Chapel hosted by Forth presbyteries group in partnership with Origin Scotland. Eight members of each congregation were invited to take part in a memorable evening of praise and worship to God, with key note speaker the Rev Albert Bogle.
